Appreciate Aesthetics of the Architecture, Experience Olympic Culture

The main body of National Stadium (Bird's Nest) shapes a “Bird’s Nest” appearance that is structured with a series of steel trusses around a bowl-shaped seating area, which novel space structure, harmoniously-whole architecture and structure, unique appearance etc, have a strong shock and visual impact, fully reflecting the beauty of natural and harmony. As for the huge outer facade woven by interlacing, the well proportioned and light-shadow mottled Gathering and Distributing Centre, sky-touching steel structure stairs, forest-like steel structure roof etc, tourists can enjoy different architectural beauty from different angles of appreciation.

The tourists can enjoy all kinds of pictures and material objects to relive Olympic memories. They can also enter the interior of Bird’s Nest to experience the splendid VIP hall and rostrum where the heads of countries had ever gathered, and go to the Torch Plaza to closely watch the mysterious Olympic torch and Olympic champion wall, and visit the newly-built "Olympic Culture Corridor” with features of previous Olympic Games on the first floor of the Bird’s Nest. The corridor is to review the first to 28th Olympic Games in chronologically with exhibition of Olympic torch as the theme, and to reshow the glory of Beijing Olympics with three theme sectors of “Construction of Bird’s Nest”, "Bird’s Nest & Olympics" and "Growth of Bird's Nest".

VIP Tour of Bird's Nest

The touring route of the Bird’s Nest passes through the Golden Hall, the Golden Hallway, the Gold Hall of Auspicious Clouds, Chairman’s Platform, the Silver Hall of Flowing Water, which served as venues for meetings and resting area for top officials of various nations and the IOC during the 2008 Beijing Olympic and 2015 Beijing IAAF World Championships in Athletics.

Steel forest

The steel forest area which locates on the 5th floor of the Bird's Nest is the junction of outer steel structure of the Bird's Nest, with a very strong visual impact. A staircase of the area connects with entrances of the Bird's Nest, which can form an independent streamline and is suitable for high-end wine party, conference, catwalk and other events.

Top Wonder of Bird's Nest

The tourism project of “Top Wonder of Bird's Nest” is one of the most beautiful visiting focus of the Bird's Nest, and the tourists can appreciate it only after they reach the rooftop of the Bird’s Nest. The visitors can go up to the interior of steel structure roof through the elevator of gathering and distributing hall located at the north side of the 5th floor, then to surface of upper string-beam of roof steel structure through the newly-built steel structure platform, channel and rotating stairs, and walk to the original torch tower platform via the topside of upper string-beam. Along the route, they can closely visit the rooftop structure of the Bird’s Nest, experience the unique design aesthetics of Bird’s Nest rooftop and overlook the surrounding landscape of the central area, as well as enjoy the rooftop steel and membrane structure of the “Most Beautiful Bird’s Nest”; steel structure forest of the “Most Mysterious Bird’s Nest”.

In 2017, Top Wonder of Bird's Nest was fully reconstructed and upgraded to become the first main stadium of Olympics which roof is opened to the public completely in the world. The upgraded air sightseeing corridor was newly built with additional visiting route of about 1000m totally including 600m upper side and 100m middle part on the basis of the original 230 meters visiting route, which realizes the North-South connection of the whole Bird’s Nest roof. The visitors can overlook the Water Cube, Olympic Central Park, dragon-shaped water system of the central area, Olympic Observation Tower at the north side, and southward look at the central axis of the city, achieving the effect of overlooking “the most beautiful Bird’s Nest and Olympic Park”.
