Liu Qi Stresses Efforts Made on Public Security Work in Bird’s Nest

Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Liu Qi inspected the public
security work during the National Day holiday in the Bird’s Nest. He stressed
the importance of security work in improving the ability to handle emergency so
as to provide a perfectly safe environment during the National Day holiday.
Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing Guo
Jinlong also went for the inspection.
Nowadays, the Bird’s Nest has become a new hot spot and a great attraction
for tourists at home and abroad. Liu visited the display boards in the public
area of the Olympic Park, the security check roofs, security facilities and
talked with security staff. He called for further strengthening of security
check so as to improve working efficiency and ensure tourists’ safety in the
park. In the Bird’s Nest, Liu Qi made a detailed check of security facilities
such as the reinforcement of the railings. He noted that greater efforts should
be made to provide security service and strictly implement the responsibility
system with each staff being clear about his/her share of responsibility. In
addition, deployment of security forces in major entrances and exits should be
enhanced to ensure security of venue operation and tourism. It is necessary to
carry out strict management and pay close attention to details to improve
service quality in the hope of achieving zero-complaint, Liu said.
